M.E.G.S.

The Glenrothes and District Amateur Radio Club, are proud to have been asked to carry forward the banner of what is known through out the World as M.E.G.S. The Morse Enthusiasts Group Scotland, and to hold the special call sign of GM0RSE.

The Morse Enthusiasts Group Scotland, was formed in January 1991 to encourage Morse Code working, at all levels of ability.

The Scotland in the title is only to show where M.E.G.S. Was born, and currently the are over 800 members located all over the World.

A practice net is operated every Monday and Thursday evenings from 7pm - 8pm On 3.530 MHz + / - for QRM / QRN.

The net allows you to call in to the controlling station, GM0RSE, at a speed which suits you, and receive a response at the same speed. This can assist with the first few contacts on CW, and help you break the ice so to speak for your first few contacts, however the net is for everyone and you may be a regular visitor, an old hand or just giving a call in, to pick up an up to date QSL card for your collection.

We are very glad to accept Short Wave Listeners cards via the QSL Buro, or Direct via GM0UZM.

We look forward to meeting or hearing you either on air, or at one of the Scottish rallies, where you will find us at the familiar Blue and White Saltire, normally with a few Morse keys for you to try.
